The Garden plot at the John Zon community center is off to a fabulous start. In the summer months there are plants growing: Squash, Zucchini, Eggplant, Cherry tomato, sweet pepper, broccoli, cauliflower, potato, onion, basil, and chive.
There are two types of flowers for making dried flower bouquets as well.
Any one go there at any time. You may harvest anything, any time. You do NOT need to ask before harvesting.
Please please please harvest!!!!!
Also, if you are willing to contribute, there are some tasks to do are:
Fill the pathways with wood chips. (You can use the wheelbarrow and shovels, but you could also use buckets)
Pick flowers for bouquets- Check out pictures of "Statice "and "gomphrena " both of which make great bouquets which don't need to be put in water and will hold their color for about 12 months as long as they are dry, and out of direct sun, the whole time after harvest.
